Password vs. Passphrase: Which to Choose?
Our advanced tool lets you generate both traditional passwords and modern passphrases.
Password
A string of random characters (e.g., `8!k&T@pZ#vQ`). They are very hard for computers to guess, but also very hard for humans to remember. Best for use with a password manager.
Passphrase
A sequence of random words (e.g., `correct-horse-battery-staple`). Their extreme length makes them exceptionally strong against attacks, but they are much easier for humans to memorize. This is the modern recommendation for master passwords.
